Black Owned Businesses

Black Owned Businesses

I've been an advocate for supporting black businesses for some time now. Years ago I actually wrote a blog post featuring a few black owned boutiques in the DMV ( DC, Maryland, Virginia) area. It's so important that we support our own. If not us, then who? And even more during this time, small black owned businesses needs the support of our community. Below I have listed a few businesses that I have purchased from recently. And of course I will provide their contact information, because after y'all read this I need for you all to go place a order. Thank you.

Girl Buy

These are the cutest handmade designer cups! I've recently purchased an LV designed milk carton, and I am absolutely obsessed with it. Girl Buy offers Starbucks cold and hot cups. If you're gonna have coffee you might as well make it a fashion statement.

Skincare is something I'm trying to be more diligent about. Recently I have gotten more into all natural products, which I find works so much better for my skin. Renae's whipped shea butter is all of that! It's light on the skin, but packed with moisture and the scent literally last all day. She also makes whipped shea butter in designer fragrances for men and women, as well as soaps. We may be locked in the house right now, but that doesn't mean its time to slack on skincare. Stop playing and place your order, like now.

People love to say that we support big corporation brands more than we support our friends. Annnd well to a degree it's true. Y'all we have to do better by our friends. Sharing their business on your social media is a start and guess what? IT'S FREE. Taking it to the next step and buying their products is even better. But y'all want to hear about these lashes right? I haven't worked up the courage to join the lash gang, however my co-worker Angel's lashes are so cute. "H0w d0 yU kNo IF yU d0Nt WeAr lAShes" Girl hush lol. I work with her and see them lol. However I have purchased hair pins from her and they are super cute.

When I say I'm obsessed with this brand! I will eventually own the whole collection. I can't wait to outside opens back up so I can show y'all how I plan to style each shirt. God is Dope definitely has a loyal customer in me.

Like I stated in the beginning of the post I'm an advocate in supporting my people. I want to help build my community and generate black wealth. Below are a few more businesses that are on my list to support very soon.

These little hand painted bags are fire! Owner Ashlee has really spoken to the inner fashionista in all of us. From cute statement tees to her signature "Fashion Made Me Do It" jeans, sis has provided us with head to toe looks to serve all year round. And of course I want everything!!!

Because your outfit is never complete without accessories and Kellee's handmade accessories are truly one of a kind. She literally makes everything. And if it's not in her inventory she'll find a way to make it! I am looking forward to the relaunch of her brand on May 1st.

Mind Over Matter is a brand that supports the healing of the black community. On their page you'll find tips on self-care and "Mental Health Mondays" post, which is definitely needed at this time. They also have merchandise that you can shop. Get your healing and a pillow to rest fam!

If these past few years have shown us anything, is that we have to support our own. We have to show up for each other. We have to restore our community. Because if we don't, then who? If not now, then, when?
